Our colleague Elena Ballesteros Morallón presented on March 17 the paper “GREENN: Granular Evaluation of Energy Efficiency in Neural Networks” at the 1st International Workshop on Green Software Evolution (Greenvolve at SANER 2026), held in Cyprus.
This paper, co-authored with Félix Óscar García, María Gutiérrez, Mª Ángeles Moraga, and Coral Calero, introduces GREENN, a tool that enables understanding the energy behavior of neural networks during training. This allows practitioners to select the architecture that best fits each problem, achieving a balance between AI model performance and energy consumption.
