Mª Ángeles Moraga and Félix O. García gave the tutorial ‘Fundamentals of Software Sustainability’, within the CIbSE 2025 congress, to raise awareness and understand how software can (and should) be part of the change towards a more sustainable future. The workshop covered the basics to understand the concept of software sustainability, the fundamentals to measure software consumption more rigorously, and a case study to learn how to estimate software consumption using a consumption profiling tool.
Software sustainability is not an option, it is an obligation.
