The GreenTeam Alarcos participates in the Greening AI with Software Engineering seminar in Lausanne.

Between the past 3rd and 7th of February, the Greening AI with Software Engineering workshop was held in Lausanne (Switzerland), organized by the CECAM-Lorentz centres. The workshop focused on the challenges faced by software engineers during the development of efficient, ecologically sustainable artificial intelligence systems, and thus they covered topics such as the adaptation of the artificial intelligence life cycle to sustainable software development techniques, the existing education and awareness regarding these systems’ environmental impact and the social and policy-related difficulties that the field faces.

One of the recipients of an invitation to participate in the workshop was the GreenTeam from the Alarcos Research Group, in recognition of its notable contributions to the field of green software, which then sent María Gutiérrez as its representative, since they’re currently working on a thesis on Sustainable Artificial Intelligence.
