Learning at a Glance

Our colleagues María Gutiérrez, Mª Ángeles Moraga, Félix García and Coral Calero have published the article Green-IN Machine Learning at a Glance in the IEEE Computer magazine.

The article motivates the importance of considering energy efficiency when developing Machine Learning (ML) applications and proposes an extension to its life cycle for it, called Green-IN ML. This life cycle aims to guide researchers and practitioners when evaluating ML proposals from an energy efficiency perspective and to seek the right balance between the performance and reliability of the results and the energy required to obtain them.
